The survey covers 13 locations within ICCA and the surrounding area. There are 13 teams of between 8-10 pax each, and is led by the participating organization and assisted by Yayasan Sabah staff.

The objective of the survey is to estimate wildlife species diversity and richness in ICCA and surrounding area as well as to obtain up-to-date information for research, conservation and management of wildlife in the area. Observations will be also made with regard to vegetation, salt licks, anthropological sites, and distinctive topographical elements.
